Who owns Huiskamp Collins Insurance Solutions, LLC?

The firm is wholly-owned by Heidi Huiskamp Collins.  Heidi partners with KHI, a women-owned insurance company that focuses on Medicare, Under 65 Marketplace Health Insurance and group insurances.  They are headquartered in Fort Dodge, IA.  SmartChoice is a nationwide company that works with independent agents to quote home, auto, umbrella and commercial policies.  They also offer express market quotes for high-risk clients.  Our firm works with Simplicity, a nationwide company headquartered in New Jersey, for quotes on life and long-term care (LTC) insurance.

Who would I be working with at Huiskamp Collins Insurance Solutions?

Kara Wolf is our Insurance Specialist.  She attended DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana and graduated with a B.A. in Communications.  Kara received her master’s degree in Gerontology (the study of aging and seniors) from the University of Missouri/St. Louis.  Prior to joining Huiskamp Collins, Kara worked in the senior living industry for 24 years in roles such as Director of Sales & Marketing and Executive Director.  She also previously worked for the National Council on Aging’s roll-out campaign when Medicare Part D (drug plans) was first announced.

How does Huiskamp Collins Insurance Solutions get paid?

We get paid by the insurance companies that we contract with when a policy is booked.  Kara acts as a fiduciary and works hard to find our clients the most comprehensive coverage at the very best price.

Who would I be working with on Legacy Planning?

Heidi does our Legacy Planning work, assisted by her Chief Operating Officer, Riane Leib.  Plan on sipping a beverage and being at ease as Heidi guides you through the estate planning process in a stress-free meet-up where you will feel seen and heard and have all your questions answered.

Legacy planning can be uncomfortable.  That’s why current studies say 55-60% of Americans have no estate planning documents.  Heidi and Riane make it painless.  We set you up for success by providing a pre-appointment checklist of things to think about and then gently guide you through a series of questions that only takes about an hour.  All of your estate planning documents are received back in a timely manner, and you come back to our office to sign your documents and have them witnessed and notarized.  Because we work with a national network of attorneys, we can assist with estate planning in every state except Mississippi.  You will find our rates very competitive as well.
